A Lot of People Work For The State

17 February 2007

Actually 1 in 7 of us work for the state and local government.
The Bureau of Economic Analysis (Federal Agency) says so.

This creates a voting class that has little incentive to keep spending down. Any possible incentive would only be apparent 2 minutes before the state goes bankrupt.

This is an entitled class that likely to be more inclined to vote and be politically active then the average “going about their business” citizen of the state of Connecticut. Because a state employee’s business is the state.

So any attempts to rein in spending or cut the size of government has a built in 14.3% disadvantage over the forces of restraint and sanity.
