Taxes: Punishing Success, Rewarding Failure

To Arms!, To Arms!

29 May 2007

We have but a week left for the state houses to finish up and adjourn, please pray for a swift end to this years excuse for state government and get them home where the damage they can inflict is limited.

There is no budget. But we have discussed ad-nausea, elephants, gays, bottles and still the highest taxes on gas in the land. But there is no budget. Just what is the business of our government?

So, we have 1.5 Billion$ in surplus, which means we have been over taxed by 1.5B$. The Governor has backed off asking for more taxes and the democrats say they are confused by the Governor.

Incidently, for those of you who read the headlines of greater employment in the state of CT, did you read the article?  Employment is expected to boom in the state service sector, not private sector!  Just where do you think that 1.5B$ is going to go?  Hiring more state workers that is where.

Here is the risk, methinks they have deliberately avoided matters of budget, leaving it to the bitter end and hoping in the flurry of activity they can past a mess of a budget at the wee hours of the morn and claim stupidity. I’d believe that.

Please call and write your rep and ask them to do their duty and READ THE BILL and insist on them READING THE BILL before they vote. And that they will be held accountable for the bill that is passed, even if it is passed at 2:00 AM. Otherwise they have failed to execute their duties in a competent manner.

I have not posted in a while, quite frankly it has been somewhat depressing. The lunacy at the state level defies belief and can not be satired.
