I believe in fairness.

25 June 2007

“I do believe in fairness. I remember when there was a fairness doctrine, and I think there was much more serious, correct reporting to people.” Senator Feinstein said she is ‘looking at’ reviving the fairness doctrine on ‘Fox News Sunday’ this morning. “I think there ought to be an opportunity to present the other side. And unfortunately, talk radio is overwhelmingly one way,” Feinstein said. And if you don’t believe it, here is the video link. Dear Leader Feinstien

It is not a big leap from this statement to requiring all bloggers to give space to opposing viewpoints. I thought I was part of the fairness answer to the Hartford Courant!

Frankly all “liberal” (I do not like that word, I don’t believe, “liberal” and “conservative” are accurate descriptors) talk radio has failed. Not because of fairness, it failed in the marketplace.

This is an attack on the marketplace, this is an attack on you and I deciding what we like and spending and dollars accordingly. This is an attack on the American way of life.
Who gets to decided what the opposing viewpoint is?

Who gets to give the opposing viewpoint? Hillary just might be the one. Think about it, everytime a talk radio host says something “conservative”, Hillary would get equal time! Or some state / federally approved hack.

As a matter of fact I think all politicians should get to submit their favorite 60 second commentaries and all talk radio hosts must run them. Ray Dunaway on WTIC and Brad and Dan on WDRC should have Democrat observers, ready to step in at any moment and add commentary.

And I and my kind should get column space on the Hartford Courant, front page, thank you very much!

Why was this Democrat choosen to carry the water on this trial ballon? “Are you going to San Franciso, be sure wear flowers in your hair….”

Senate seats do not get more safer this one.

Why are images of the Peter Pan movies floating through my head, “I do believe in fairies, I do believe in fairies, I do believe in fairies”???? Because their definition of fairness is like a belief in fairies, and wishing really really really hard will not make it so.
