Rell appoints home heating oil owner to run the state’s high tech venture capital agency

9 August 2007

Qualifications?: The Rell’s website does not mention any degrees. Nor does it mention any experience in the field of high tech, nor low tech. Nor does it mention any experience in Venture Capital. There is one tie in mentioned on the Courant’s website:

State campaign finance records show that Bowman, a Republican, gave Rell’s 2006 campaign the maximum $2,500 allowed by law. Jane Bowman, of the same address, gave $1,500, and several relatives in the Cheshire area threw in thousands more.

Neither Rell’s office nor Connecticut Innovations would provide a resume for Bowman. However, Bowman said in an interview Wednesday that he had run and then sold Village Oil, a local oil delivery and service company, started a heating and air conditioning company

Now I have a resume. I have two technical degrees, (Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Physics), and I have a Masters in Management. Oddly enough I have not been contacted by the Governor’s office for an appointment.

The Governor: Governor Rell said. “I am especially pleased that Ned comes to this job from an energy background, because my energy vision for Connecticut calls for strategic investments in developing technologies that will make our state more independent and efficient in the years to come.

Energy background = Delivering home heating oil!

Who is giving this woman advice? Does anyone up there have a clue that this stinks?

This is the agency responsible for doling out our money to businesses to encourage ultimately business growth and jobs in the state of Connecticut.

I am so tired of this crap.
