another thing not mentioned is that I believe 30,000 jobs are related to Indian casinos. If you want your kids to be croupiers and cocktail waitresses be my guest. There was even an article that i cant find anymore (Courant) that stated that in some towns in the casino areas(Norwich and others)that for the first time there have been complaints of incest filed as blended families working different hours(i.e day plumber night waitress) are experiencing “inappropriate boundaries”

The casinos have done nothing good except get state government addicted to slot machine money.
Our state government is addicted like a drug addict to the millions in revenue from the casinos.
Consequently they will never address the true cost of this “industry”. The promised economic boon, has not materialized, since the casinos have kept it all on the “reservation”. From what I hear only two new businesses have been created, a paper goods distributor and a beverage distributor.
A drive around the casinos shows the businesses that started and then closed in anticipation of an economic revival.
The casinos have been importing workers from out of state, many of these workers require social services for their families.
An honest assessment what they have done to the schools and towns in the area would be very interesting. If we only had a newspaper…..

And according to WTNH we could see another 8% in increases over the next 7 years. Remember we did have a surplus this year and last year. Just paying our fair share in this land of increasing government employement. […]
